Standard medical practice often waits for fasting glucose or HbA1c to elevate before diagnosing metabolic dysfunction. However, the body typically maintains normal glucose levels for years (or decades) by hyper-secreting insulin. By the time glucose rises, pancreatic beta-cell function is already compromised.
The Role of Insulin
Insulin is the hormone responsible for driving glucose out of the blood and into cells (muscle, liver, fat). As cells become resistant to insulin (due to ectopic fat deposition, chronic energy surplus, and inflammation), the pancreas must secrete more insulin to achieve the same glucose-lowering effect.
The Testing Protocol
